The model which I use must be a similar age to my target audience of young people, meaning that they must be aged around 16-18 years old. This will allow my audience to relate to my magazine and will mean that they feel less alienated from my magazine as they can infer the magazine is aimed at them. The clothes they are wearing must also be suitable in price and style. This is because that anything too expensive may be unaffordable to my target audience as they belong in categories C1-E, meaning they may be unable to afford designer brands. If I used these sorts of clothes in may put them off of my magazine as they may feel that this is not aimed at them. The gender of my model won't matter as my magazine is not targeted at any gender in particular. However, the ethnicity of my model does matter as my magazine is targeted at a predominantly white audience. This means my models should be of a white/ Caucasian ethnicity.
